Peeled Snacks
Peeled Snacks is a health food snack company in the U.S. offering organic dried fruits and healthy puff snacks.[1] Based in Gowanus, the company was founded in 2004 by Noha Waibsnaider,[2] who also co-founded the Global Social Venture Competition. She used crowdfunding sites to raise money.[1]
After an ownership change, the company moved its headquarters from Brooklyn, New York to Cumberland, Rhode Island.[citation needed] At its peak, annual revenue was $14 million.[3]
In March 2021 the company filed for bankruptcy protection, citing losses from the significant decline of sales to schools and airport retailers related to the coronavirus pandemic.[4] It met with no bidders at bankruptcy auction and was then sold to Jim Goldberg, who acquired all of the firm's assets but not its debts. Goldberg relocated Peeled to Connecticut.[3]
