Peesao Tonmai (พี่สาวต้นไม้) is a spirit represented by the wooden figure under the Bodhi tree in front of the B Story Garden Cafe and Restaurant in Bangkok.[1][2] The figure is notable for its worshippers, including celebrities and politicians, and is believed to grant wishes.[3][4] After becoming a trend in the social media, many worshippers from the local area and upcountry have flocked there to ask for good luck with their businesses or to be blessed with winning lottery tickets.[5][6][7][8][9][10]

According to the café owner, there was a Bodhi tree nearby. She wanted to cut it because she was worried that the roots might go inside the café. She hires arborists to chop down the tree, but they refuse. Until the arborists arrived and informed her that someone was already living in the Bodhi tree. They saw the pretty lady near the Bodhi tree and came to pay respects to the tree, and they won the lottery.[11] Initially, the arborists and owner, as well as the employees, referred to the girl as a "tree spirit."[12][13][14][15][16][17][18]
