PerumPadai Sastha

Perumpadai Sastha Temple is located at Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India. Sastha is a powerful god in South India, especially in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. This temple is located near (within 10 km) Thoothukudi Railway Station and Airport.

Festival - Panguni Uthiram is a famous festival for Sastha. Usually people from all communities around this vicinity will come to the temple on that auspicious day. This temple is governed by the Hindu Religious & Endowments Department of Tamil Nadu.

River Thamirabharani is passing near the temple, hence this area is suitable for agriculture and it is full of green lush area associated with big Banyan Trees.

About Lord Perumpadai Sastha

Sastha is an avatar of Lord Ayyappa, who is the son of Lord Shiva & Mohini (Female Avatar of Vishnu). Sastha is also known as Ayyanar in Tamil Nadu. He has two consorts, Purnai and Pushkalai, who are the younger sisters of Devasena (Daughter of Indiran).

Apart from Moolavar (Sastha). Inside the temple are Pillayar (Ganapathi), Pechiamman, Bairavar, Bhoothathar and Pattani.
