Pervasive Display System

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

PDS or Pervasive Display Systems can be termed as a system which is made up of public displays, i.e. displays that are not under the control of a single user. It is potentially dispersed across many sites spanning a vast geographical area and are typically placed at such a distance that a user is only able to interact with one display at that a user is only able to interact with one display at each point in time. PDS has traditionally been used as digital signage—providing electronic equivalents of paper advertising and information boards. [1] [2] [3] It provides a wide range of high resolution, high contrast, sunlight readability, and ultra-low energy consumption standards and custom EPD panels. And hence, these kinds of bi- stable e-paper displays are designed for commercial, industrial, and embedded applications. The resolution is 960 x 768 with 103 DPI. The main function of a PDS is to manage display requests and arbitrate display resources.
