Peter S. Biegelbauer[1] (born 1966 in Vienna) is an Austrian political scientist working at the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) as Senior Scientist and at the University of Vienna and FH Campus Wien as lecturer in the fields of policy analysis[2] social learning in politics,[3] [4] innovation policy[2] [5] [6] [4] [7], societal impact of new technologies,[8] [9] especially artificial intelligence,[10] [11] [12] administration and politics[13] [4] [14] ,social science methods and democracy research.[15] [16] [17]
Peter Biegelbauer studied political science at the University of Vienna and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). From 1998 to 2011 he worked at the Institute for Advanced Studies (Vienna) (IHS), and before that at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for the Social Sciences (IFS), both in Vienna. He has taught at the University of Vienna, the University of Innsbruck, the University of Salzburg, the FH Campus Wien, the Institute for Advanced Studies, the Austrian Federal Academy of Public Administration, and the Austrian Institute of Technology. In 2006, he was a visiting professor at the Charles University in Prague.
He was managing editor of the Austrian Journal of Political Science from 2010 to 2014 and has been one of the spokespersons of the Politics and Administration Section[18] of the Austrian Political Science Association since 2012. In 2013, Peter Biegelbauer habilitated at the University of Innsbruck[19]. From 2015 to 2017, he was co-editor of the journal European Policy Analysis.[20] Peter Biegelbauer is a member of various supervisory boards, advisory boards and commissions in several European countries.[21] [22] [23]
