Judge Peter A. Cahill
Peter A. Cahill is a Judge, serving as the Judge for Minnesota's Fourth Judicial District at Hennepin Courthouse.[1]
Cahill is a 14-year veteran of the bench in Hennepin County. He has previously worked as a public defender, private defense lawyer and prosecutor, rising to become chief deputy under Amy Klobuchar, now a U.S. senator, when she served as the county attorney. He has so far won praise in Derek Chauvin's trial.[2]
Appointed May 30, 2007. Elected in 2008, 2014 and 2020. His current term expires in January 2027.
Peter A. Cahill is known as the Major presiding officer in the Trial of Dereck Chauvin who was convicted for the Murder of George Floyd.
