Peter F. Carls is a German born Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.[citation needed]

Carls is a Senior Clinical Consultant and University Lecturer for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Switzerland. Carls is a specialist in oral-maxillofacial[1] surgery, Carls spent 16 years in training after completing his studies in dentistry and medicine at the University Hospital of Zurich.[citation needed]

Carls was formally Assistant Professor and Lecturer at the University of Zurich between 1987 to 1997 and a Research Clinical Fellow with Ian T. Jackson.[citation needed] He received a PhD with his disertation on Habilitation in Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery (Distraction Osteogenesis) from the University of Zurich in 1996.[citation needed]

Carls has presented his research in conferences[2][3].[4]
