From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Peter J. Hasson is an investigative reporter with The Daily Caller, a conservative news and opinion site located in Washington, D.C.

Early Life[edit]

Hasson was born in Fairfax, Virginia to Kevin Hasson and Mary Hasson. His father founded the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, a non-profit defending religious liberty.

Career[edit]

Hasson began his journalism career at Campus Reform. On July 28, 2015, he broke news that the University of New Hampshire had published a bias-free language guide that claimed the word "American" was "problematic."[1] Donald Trump called the article "an outrage."[2] University of New Hampshire President Mark Huddleston denounced the list following Hasson's story.[3] The Washington Post credited Hasson with breaking the story. "Young conservatives like Hasson really are part of the story, if not the story within the story here," the Post's Janell Ross wrote.[4]

Hasson began writing for The Daily Caller in November 2015. As a reporter for The Daily Caller, he broke several national stories. He was the first to break the news in September 2016 that Colin Powell's personal emails had been hacked and published on the website DCLeaks[5]. The New York Times credited Hasson with breaking the story: " In September, DCLeaks contacted Peter Hasson, a reporter at the Daily Caller, a right-leaning site, with an offer: password-protected access to hacked emails belonging to Colin Powell, the former secretary of state."[6]

In June 2017, Hasson was the first to break the news that James T. Hodgkinson had been carrying a list of Republican congressmen when he opened fire at a Republican baseball practice on June 14, 2017.[7] Hasson went on Fox News to discuss the story.[8]
