Peter Langendam
Peter Langendam (born The Hague, May 17, 1949 ) is a Dutch physicist, business entrepreneur, author and former politician.
Langendam studied physics at Eindhoven University of Technology and obtained his doctorate in Mathematics and Natural Sciences from Leiden University. As an entrepreneur he also started a large number of companies. Langendam became friends with Pim Fortuyn and was instrumental in encouraging Fortuyn to set up his own party after Fortuyn's dismissal from Liveable Netherlands and became an administrator for Fortuyn's Pim Fortuyn List party.[1][2] Following Fortuyn's assassination, Langendam was appointed chairman of the LPF, a position Fortuyn had held himself.[3] In 2002, Langendam accused GroenLinks leader Paul Rosenmöller and PvdA leader Ad Melkert of stirring up hatred towards Fortuyn that enabled his assassination, stating The bullet came from the left, not the right.[4][5]
