Peter Pindják (born 16 April 1985) is a Slovak diplomat, currently Deputy Head of Mission at the Slovak Permanent Mission to the UN, OSCE and other international organizations in Vienna.[1][2] He previously served in the Cabinet of Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, working for Ivan Korčok,[3] Rastislav Káčer and Miroslav Wlachovský. In 2019-2020, while serving at the Permanent Mission of the Slovak Republic by the United Nations in New York[4], he was Vice-Chair of the 4th UN General Assembly Committee.[5][6]
Early years[edit]
At the age of 8, Peter enrolled in piano at the Elementary music school of Ľudovít Rajter in Bratislava. In 1998, Peter appeared as a soloist with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, performing 2nd movement of Mozart's Piano Concerto A Major (KV488) at a special concert of gifted children.[7] From 2000, Peter studied piano and composition at the State Conservatory in Bratislava. After graduating in 2004, he received piano scholarship at the Northwestern State University of Louisiana.[8]
Education[edit]
In 2004, Peter enrolled in Northwestern State University of Louisiana. A year after he added second major in Political Science and was admitted to Louisiana Scholars' College, the only state-designated four-year, selective-admissions honors college in the liberal arts and sciences. In 2009, Peter graduated with highest honors with two bachelor degrees, in Piano Performance and Political Science, and having completed two bachelor theses, on Dmitri Shostakovich[9] and U.S. missile defense system, respectively.[10][11] In that year, he was awarded Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarship, one of the largest and most competitive scholarships in the nation.[11][8][12] In 2011, he earned MPIA from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA)[13] defending a Master's thesis about President Eisenhower administration's space policy.[14]
