Early Life and Career[edit]

Work[edit]

Neuropsychologist and Art Critic, Phillip Romero, wrote that Sesti’s work “pushes the boundaries of art and science and goes beyond both”.[11] Sesti is particularly interested in themes such as motion, chaos, light, and void, exploring in particular the ever-changing relationships between artwork, environment and the viewer.

Sesti’s artworks play with the intertwined combination of both natural and technological elements. Amongst the examples is a series of works inaugurated by Event Horizon. This series consists of a spinning vortex within a class container, usually an upside-down bell jar or a sphere, that is filled with optic oil. It was featured in the scientific exhibition “Surface Tensions - The Future of Water” at the Science Gallery in Dublin[12] and many variations of it are now held in art collections around the world, such as Kistefos Museum in Norway[13] and the Qatar Foundation HQ in Doha, UAE.[14]

Other Activity[edit]

Philanthropic activity has always been an important part of Sesti’s life & work. He is a judge and supporter to the AON Community Art Awards at the Cheesegrater tower in London.[15] He is an ambassador for the Prudential Eye Awards in Singapore, member of their contemporary art awards selection committee and co-presenter of their sculpture prize held at Singapore’s Art Science Museum.[16] He is also a member and supporter of the Elephant Family Charity, donating artworks to auction to support their mission of preventing the extinction of the Asian Elephant.[17] Sesti also exhibited in the launch exhibition for Art of Kindness, London, which is a digital art business that bridges the worlds of art and philanthropy.[18]
