Peugeot X80 Series
The Peugeot X80 series was a series of bicycles produced from 1974 until 1982. They featured a 28-inch wheel and frame sizes from 19 inches in the X80 to 25 inches in the X86. Plans were made for a X88 and X90 but the unpopularity of the bicycles resulted in their demise towards the beginning of 1982. The X82 had a 21-inch frame and the X84 had a 23-inch frame. All featured hybrid-road tyres with small traction.
The X80s were renowned for having poor brakes and wheel strength hence only 1200 being made in the 8 years they were in production; less than 100 are estimated to still be in existence. Made in France, they were sold for 350 Francs when first produced. Being one of the most rare Peugeot bicycles in existence they can fetch, in pristine condition, in excess of $300 currently.
