Philip Adeniyi[edit]

Philip A. Adeniyi is a Nigerian Neuroscientist. He is currently a post doctoral fellow at Oregon Health & Science University. He obtained his PhD in Human Anatomy with a specialty in Neurobiology of Addiction. He was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria.

Adeniyi is one of the founding members of the Neuroscience Research Group (NRG) at Afe Babalola University[1](since 2014). He served as the president between 2018 and 2020. Prior to that, he served as the Assistant Secretary-General of the Neuroscience Society of Nigeria (NSN), between 2014 and 2016.

Adeniyi founded Africa Young Scientists (AYS)[2] - a mentorship platform created to bring together young, dynamic, brilliant, and innovative scientists to pave ways for innovations for the benefit of mankind.

He has Won several Grants/Awards: The Company of Biologists Ltd, ISN–CAEN 1B, and an IBRO-ARC travel bursary. Adeniyi was one of two Africans selected for the first Young–IBRO Regions Connecting Award [3]. He was selected to Speak at the Young Investigator Colloquia at ISN-ESN 2017 in Paris[4]. Dr Adeniyi was also one of two Africans selected to participate in the 1st ISN–JNC Flagship Neuroscience School in Austria and the only African from a review article (The malleable brain: plasticity of neural circuits and behavior–a review from students to students)[5] that came out of the highly celebrated school.

Adeniyi is a member of several international societies; International Research Organization (since 2010), International Society for Neurochemistry (since 2010), Society for Neuroscience (since 2012), Society of Neuroscientists of Africa (Since 2013), and Neuroscience Society of Nigeria (NSN) (since 2011).
