Philip Luther
Philip Luther is the research and advocacy director for the Middle East and North Africa at Amnesty International since October 2016 – Present.[1][2]
Activism
He worked between 2011 and 2016 as Director of the Middle East and North Africa Programme, between 2007 and 2011 as Deputy Director, and between 1998 and 2007 as first campaigner then researcher in the North Africa team.[3] He has experience of both management and implementation of research, advocacy and campaigning work on crisis situations, such as the uprisings and ensuing conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa since 2011, the Gaza/Israel conflicts of 2008/2009, 2012 and 2014, the 2006 Israel/Lebanon war and the internal conflict in Algeria during the 1990s and 2000s.[4]
