Philip Rodrigs is the Founder, Director and CEO of Raynar Portfolio Management[1]. Philip joined the professional investment industry in 2002 as a Trainee Fund Manager at Invesco Perpetual. In 2003, he joined T Rowe Price International where he specialized in UK and European small cap stocks. Philip joined Investec Asset Management in 2005 where he grew and soft-closed the multi-award winning UK Smaller Companies Fund, reaching c£650m within eight years and transformed the performance profile of the UK Alpha Fund, creating a platform for the fund to subsequently exceed £1bn.

Between 2014 and 2018, Rodrigs held various assignments for R&M Asset Management. There, he conceived of the company’s Micro Cap Investment Trust, spearheaded its 2014 IPO, and oversaw the significant performance and return of capital. Additionally, he managed R&M’s UK Smaller Companies strategy, taking an initial value of £150m and growing it to surpass £1bn in only four years. Implementing a Total Return Swap mechanism for the UK Dynamic Fund, Rodrigs also leveraged growth of that All-Cap strategy from an initial £8m to £350m.

Philip has 20 years of investing experience as he first started investing his own money early in the year 2000, investing a small gift given to him by his grandfather. He has received numerous professional accolades, including being named Investment Week UK’s Smaller Companies Fund Manager of the Year (in 2010 and 2011), Morningstar’s Outstanding Rising Talent (in 2012), and Financial Express UK’s Smaller Companies Alpha Fund Manager of the Year (in 2016).

Philip studied economics and management at Lincoln College, Oxford University where he made it a goal of his to run his own business in the future. Philip is currently a Portfolio Manager at his self-created Raynar Portfolio Management which is a trading name of Met Facilities LLP authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN: 587084)
