Philips Data Export Interface
The Philips Data Export Interface is an interface that is specific to the Intellivue and Avalon Series of patient monitors which are manufactured by Philips. The interface allows external systems (e.g. computers) to access clinical data and alarms using RS232 or UDP protocols. The interface is described in detail in the Data Export Interface Program Guide, which is published by Philips.[1]
Due to its complexity, the interface is not very widely used. However, examples of its use are:
- Various medical device data systems, such as MediCollector and Capsule Neuron use this interface for medical device connectivity.
- Researchers use the interface for clinical data collection
- Medical devices, such as HeRO, use this interface for retrieving data
