Phuthi Nakene is a South African actress and writer.[2][3][4]

Career[edit]

In 2012, Nakene was cast in Lara Cunha's 48-hour film, Child, produced by Greg Cattell and also featuring Legend Manqele and Dineo Lusenga.[5]

In 2014, she co-wrote the short film, Dear Betty, with the writer/director Lara Cunha.[6][3][7][4]

In 2016, she was featured in Jarryd Coetsee's short film, The Suit, set in the 1950s in which she played the role of Matilda, wife of Philemon (Atandwa Kani).[2][8][9][10][11]

Still in 2016, she was featured in Akin Omotoso's Zulu language multi-award winning TV drama, Vaya, in which she played the role of "Patricia", alongside other casts such as also Warren Masemola, Nomonde Mbusi, Zimkhitha Nyoka and Azwile Chamane-Madiba.[12][13][14]
