Description[edit]

piCorePlayer is a software emulation of a Squeezebox (network music player) that runs exclusively on the Raspberry Pi.

piCorePlayer is designed as a headless music player, much like the Squeezebox Duet. Optionally, a keyboard and monitor or a touch screen can be added if desired.

piCorePlayer uses piCore Linux, a small embedded Linux distribution running from RAM as its core base. After the initial setup, it only reads the SD card. piCorePlayer is a small distribution, being only about 75 MB in size, including the operating system piCore Linux. It boots fast, being ready for use in about 30 seconds after being powered on. piCorePlayerinstallation will automatically be found by the Logitech Media Server. It is possible to synchronize piCorePlayer to other Squeezebox devices.
