Pierre Valkering
Pierre Valkering (born August 8, 1960, in Santpoort) is a Roman Catholic Dutch priest and author.
Life
In his childhood, Valkering lived in Santpoort and later in Apeldoorn, Purmerend, and Zuidoostbeemster. Valkering studied Roman Catholic theology. On March 12, 1994, Valkering became a Roman Catholic priest in Roman Catholic Diocese of Haarlem-Amsterdam. In Amsterdam, he works as a Catholic priest at the Catholic church Our Lady Queen of Peace.[1]
In July 2019, Valkering outed himself as a homosexual priest. After his outing as a gay priest in Amsterdam, he was dismissed by the Catholic bishop Jos Punt. In December 2010, Valkering won in Rome his Vatican appeal against his dismissal.[2][3] As an author, Valkering wrote several books.[4]
