Pieter Adriaan Kriel (born March 2, 2004) is a South African track and field sprinter who competes in the 100 and 200 metres. He is also a Political youth leader, writer, activist and founder and leader of the United Socialist Movement.

Early life[edit]

Pieter was born in 2004, in the Gauteng town of Heidelberg, South Africa.

Athletics Career[edit]

His athleticism surfaced while he was still very young. Pieter set two boys under 11 South African records in January 2015, one for the 80m and another for the 100m. Pieter shattered the 32-year-old 80m record of 10,80 seconds by completing the distance in 10,09 seconds. The second record (14,35s) for the 100m was broken with a new time of 12,94 seconds.[1] In February 2016, he won gold medals in the 100m and 150m track events for boys under 12 at the Gauteng Primary School Championships, qualifying to compete in the South Africa Championships the same year.[2] In March 2019, Pieter again qualified for the Gauteng Championships in both the 100m and 200m events for boys under 15.
