Piggy is an episodic horror game series that incorporates elements from Peppa Pig and the indie horror game Granny into a zombie apocalypse setting.[1] The games' style of episodic storytelling resulted in a significant fandom developing prior to the game's finale on May 25, 2020.[2] Piggy was uploaded to the site in January 2020 by Kohl Couture[3] (also known as MiniToon) and had been played 11 billion times as of October 2022.[4]
A sequel to Piggy, titled Piggy: Book 2, released on September 12, 2020. The last chapter was released on October 23, 2021.[5] On November 24 2022, MiniToon announced that the main game of Piggy is over.[6]
The demo to another entry, Piggy: Intercity, was released on January 28.[7] Piggy: Intercity is an open world survival game. It was supposed to update again in 2021,[8] but due to personal reasons with developers, was delayed. The full version will include base building, quests, and more customization.
Gameplay[edit]
The concept of Piggy is to go around and find items to unlock the rest of the map. While the player(s) do this, anthropomorphic animals chase them.[9]
There are multiple game modes for players to choose. Player game mode, when chosen, means a randomly selected player gets to chase the others. Bot, when chosen, means an AI chases the player.[10] Player and Bot is a combination of the two. Infection, when chosen, means a randomly selected player can 'infect' others, until all players are infected.[11] Traitor, when chosen, means a player is randomly chosen to secretly kill players with the bot. Build Mode is a mode where players create a custom map.
Piggy had two installments and 12 'chapters.'[12] There are additional chapters exclusive to VIP servers on Roblox. These include Distorted Memory, Distraction, Heist, and Breakout. Breakout released on May 28, 2022.
Unlike other chapters, Piggy Chapter 12 had multiple endings: good, bad, and true. The 'True Ending Hunt' was a hunt to find the way to unlock the True Ending.[13] The ending was found after 7 days. The ending was found after playing all chapters, going on Player + Bot, and finding a secret paper under a car. Once completed, the player(s) receive a skin.[14](5:37) In the final chapter of Piggy: Book 2, there were 5 endings. The 'Hidden Ending Hunt' lasted 7 days. Once completed, the player(s) receive a skin.[15]
