PineBridge Investments LLC is a private, global asset manager focused on active, high-conviction investing. Independent since 2010, the company's roots developed as the former asset management arm of AIG with decades of investment experience and history managing developed and emerging markets portfolios, as well as traditional and alternative asset classes.[1] As of 31 March 2018, the firm managed US$90.5 billion across global asset classes for sophisticated investors around the world.[2]

PineBridge Investments LLC was formed in 1996 when Pacific Century Group (PCG) acquired AIG's asset management operations, AIG Investments. It was then renamed PineBridge Investments (PineBridge)and was restructured.[3] Later that year, the former CEO of Standard Chartered and UK trade minister Lord Mervyn Davies of Abersoch was named as the chairman.[3] The CEO in 2012 was David Jiang and as of 2016 is Greg Ehret (formerly of State Street Capital in Boston MA USA). PineBridge operated in over 20 countries and managed over US$72 billion of assets as at 31 December 2012.[4] As of June 2017 and March 2018, PineBridge has over US$85.5 billion and US$90.5 billion of assets under management, respectively. The firm offers numerous financial services, primarily providing its services to pooled investment vehicles along with high net worth individuals, banks or thrift institutions, registered investment companies, insurance companies, pension and profit sharing plans, trusts, estates, charitable organizations, private Funds, and other corporations and business entities to name a few.[5] The firm manages separate client-focused equity, multi-asset, fixed income, and alternative investment portfolios.[1] It also manages equity, fixed income, and balanced mutual funds.[6] For its equity investments, it primarily invests in stocks of small-cap, mid-cap, and large-cap companies. [5] For its alternative investments, it invests in private equity markets and specializes in investments in junior capital, mezzanine debt, structured equity, debt, and equity securities issued by privately-owned middle market companies across all sectors in North America.[4] The firm employs charting, fundamental, technical, and cyclical analysis to create its portfolios. It employs a combination of in-house and external research to make its investments.[5]

PineBridge also manages private equity investments, fund of funds, small- to mid-market buyout funds, real estate, hedge funds and fixed-income strategies. In addition, the firm’s Alternative Investment Group offers both direct and indirect private opportunities around the world in developed, emerging and frontier markets.[5] The firm invests in business services, hospitals, schools, industrial and manufacturing companies, and oil and gas services, as well as the real estate, warehousing and retail sectors. The PineBridge Private Funds Group focuses on multi-manager global growth, small- and mid-market buyouts, credit and mature assets. It has committed over $15 billion to private markets since 2000.[5]
