Pine Studio d.o.o. is a video game development company and publisher located in Samobor, in the Zagreb County of Croatia.

History[edit]

Pine Studio is a game development studio from Croatia that started working on its first game in a garage, back in 2012. Their first major release was the first-person platformer SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell in 2016. They followed SEUM with two major puzzle-based series called Faraway and The Birdcage.[1][2] Pine Studio was co-founded by Tomislav Podhraški, Boris Barbir and Vladimir Koščica.[2][3][4]

Pine Studio has developed a range of games that have a strong focus on puzzles and adventures.[5] Several of their puzzle games are designed around the Escape Room mechanism.[6][7] While they have published some of their in-house developed titles[8], some other games in their catalog have been published by other companies, such as the Sweden-based publisher, Snapbreak Games[9]; and a few mobile-only games were co-developed with companies like KeyCube[10] or published by Estonian publisher MobiGrow.[11] Some of the mobile-only games that Pine co-developed like The Birdcage series make use of the augmented reality mechanic.[1][12][13][14]
