Pinnacle Life is a 100% New Zealand owned life insurance company and member of the Financial Services Council offering life protection products directly to consumers. Pinnacle Life is backed by Hannover Re. Pinnacle Life has a 'B' Financial strength rating from international rating agency A.M. Best.[1]

Pinnacle Life was founded in 1998 by Noel Vaughan to provide New Zealanders with the option to buy life insurance directly from a life insurance company.[2]
In 2014 Noel Vaughan, the founder, retired as Cheif Executive and Michelle van Gaalen was appointed as his replacement.[3] Noel Vaughan remains a director of the company. In 2018 Gillian Vaughan was appointed the new Chief Executive.[4]
