Pinus tetrafolia is an extinct fossil pine species from the Early Eocene period, dating back approximately 49.5 million years. Found in the Klondike Mountain Formation in the Okanagan Highlands, this ancient conifer is known from fossilized needle clusters and was a part of the flora in that ancient ecosystem.
