History
Piper Theatre Productions was established in 2000 by John P. McEneny and Rachel McEneny.[citation needed]
Productions
Piper Theatre has staged over 40 original and adapted works. Highlights include:
- The Island of Doctor Moreau (Edinburgh Fringe, 2013),[citation needed] recipient of the Bobby’s Sixth Star Award for Best Play[1]
- We Should Have Seen the Lights Already by Matei Vișniec (North American premiere, 2017)
- Splitfoot (Edinburgh Fringe, 2022)[2]
- The Lincoln Dress (produced in New York and Romania, 2023)[3]
- Wendy Darling, Prospect Hill, and Charlotte Lucas is 27 and Not Dead[4]
- The Bloody Ballad of Bette Davis (Edinburgh Fringe, 2024)[citation needed]
- Outdoor musicals including Priscilla Queen of the Desert[5], Sweeney Todd, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Xanadu[citation needed]
In 2023, Piper presented an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's La Mère Sauvage in Malta as part of a cultural exchange initiative.[6][7]
Later in 2023, it staged Bomba and the Coquí, a children’s musical exploring Puerto Rican identity through folklore and music.[8]
In 2025, Piper Theatre is set to produce CADEL: Lungs on Legs, a solo show about Australian cyclist Cadel Evans, starring Connor Delves.[citation needed]
