Piplup (Japanese: ポッチャマ Pochama) is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. (Generation 4)
It evolves into Prinplup starting at level 16, which evolves into Empoleon starting at level 36.
Along with Turtwig and Chimchar, Piplup is one of the three starter Pokémon of Sinnoh available at the beginning of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl.
Piplup is number 7 in the Sinnoh Pokédex and 393 in the national Pokédex.
