Pippa Bianco

Pippa Bianco is a film director and writer. Bianco attended Yale University to study fine arts, particularly photography and painting. She claims it did not take long for her to feel like those were lonely art forms.[1] In an interview, Bianco recalls her thoughts on the matter saying, "I'll be working alone forever. Because you shoot alone, you print alone, you show alone—it's a very solitary lifestyle. So I thought, What's an artform that involves more people?".[2]
As a senior in college, she explored the film genre and worked on several indie features such as Higher Ground, Here and Bachelorette.[1] Bianco's thesis film Jornalera won the Normal Pearson Prize for the Best American Studies Thesis and the Howard R. Lamar Prize for Best Film at Yale.[3]
After college, she wrote and produced a series of music videos for Beyoncé Knowles' production company, Parkwood Entertainment.[4] Bianco received her first professional writing credit on the film Bleed for This, directed by Ben Younger and produced by Martin Scorsese and Bruce Cohen.[3]
