Piramal Pharma Solutions is the contract development and manufacturing arm of Piramal Enterprises Limited with operations in Europe, North America, and Asia.[1].

History[edit]

In 1988, the Piramal Group made its foray into the Pharmaceutical industry with the acquisition of Nicholas Laboratories, an Australian multinational corporation which was later renamed to Nicholas Piramal India Limited (NPIL)[2]. NPIL was later renamed as Piramal Healthcare Limited in 2008[3]. In 2012, Piramal Healthcare Limited was renamed to Piramal Enterprises Limited[4]. Currently, it is ranked amongst the Top 10 Pharma Companies in India[5].

Acquisitions and Partnerships[edit]

  • In 2016, Piramal Pharma entered into an agreement to acquire Ash Stevens Inc., a US-based contract and drug manufacturing organisation (CDMO) for High Potency APIs (HPAPIs)[6]
