Pissgrave

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Pissgrave is a Grindcore/Goregrind[1] band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania[1]. They have been releasing music since 2014 with their self-titled debut, Pissgrave. They have gone on to release two studio albums: Suicide Euphoria (2015), as well as Posthumous Humiliation (2019)[1]. The band consists of two known members: Demian Fenton and John Guarracino[2], however, there are four people depicted in the art on the CD version of the album Suicide Euphoria, suggesting that there may be more (at least four) members[3].

Pissgrave is known for their dark cover art as well as lyrical content, having the cover of their studio album Posthumous Humiliation be the source of some controversy. This has lead them to provide an alternate cover for the album. They are also known for their use of distorted vocals and guitars, along with heavily compressed and distorted mixing techniques in order to achieve their sound[4]. The band also frequently utilizes tremolo picking as well as blast beats on drums, both of which, when combined with the mixing and distortion, create a very hectic and claustrophobic sound.

Profound Lore, the label the band put out their 2015 and 2019 albums on, described the band like this: "...one of the rawest, most depraved, immoral, and violent bands in present-day death metal..."[4]
