From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The USFS Pittsburg campground

Pittsburg Landing is an unincorporated area in Idaho County, Idaho, United States. Its elevation is 1,150 feet (350 m). It was named after the industrial heritage of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The place is located on the Snake River in Hells Canyon. It is reached by Deer Creek Road, a single track gravel road from White Bird, Idaho. The United States Forest Service maintains a developed campground there with approximately 28 campsites.[1] There is also a boat launch ramp on the river.

The Pittsburg Landing rock art site, 1 mile south of the campground, is an important site for petroglyphs. Nearly thirty boulders are covered with petroglyphs.[2] An interpretive site has a short trail to interpretive panels displaying petroglyphs and pictographs.[3]
