Piwik PRO is a marketing and analytics technology vendor – a subsidiary of Clearcode[1][2], an AdTech and MarTech development company headquartered in Wroclaw, Poland. It provides analytics, tag management, customer data management and other software products related to digital marketing and web analytics.
History
Piwik PRO was founded in September 2013, by Maciej Zawadziński, the CEO of Clearcode, a marketing technology software development house, and Matthieu Aubry, the founder of Piwik.
Early on, it provided technical support and consulting to clients. In December 2013, it officially launched a cloud-hosted analytics platform, based on Piwik, and sold support plans for self-hosted and open-source Piwik. The company started creating proprietary plugins to Piwik and moved towards a subscription model for the product.
In June 2016, Clearcode became the sole owner of Piwik PRO, buying out Matthieu Aubry. The company decided to develop additional marketing software products, the first of them being Piwik PRO Tag Manager[3].
In February 2017, Tim Schumacher[4], co-founder and former CEO of Sedo.com, along with Warsaw Equity Group (WEG)[5], a Polish private equity firm, invested $2 million in Piwik PRO[6]. In September 2017, Piwik PRO launched Piwik PRO Marketing Suite.
In February 2018, Piwik PRO joined the EIT Digital Accelerator[7] – a Knowledge and Innovation Community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology to expand across Western Europe and North America. In July 2018, Piwik PRO was chosen to take part in “Startup Europe Comes to Silicon Valley”[8], the premier program for European startups organized by Mind the Bridge in cooperation with the European Commission Startup Europe, Startup Europe Partnership and EIT Digital.
