History
Noam Ben-Zvi, Oded Fossfeld, Zohar Bar-Yehuda and Ofir Lemel founded Placer.ai in 2016[1] in Tel Aviv, Israel. The company operated in stealth mode for two years before releasing the commercial version of its product in 2018. In October of that year, the company closed a Seed Funding round of $4 million [2], led by IrishAngels Ventures with participation from Array Ventures, Stage Venture Partners and BrightStreet Ventures.
The following year, M Science LLC announced a partnership with Placer.ai to launch TRAFFIC.[3] A data-driven solution offering visibility into foot traffic trends. After the release of its commercial product, the company rolled out a custom point of interest feature to its existing analytics platform that provided its clients with more personalized data. [4]
The company recently announced a Series A round of $12 million on January 22nd, 2020 [5] led by JBV Capital with participation from Aleph, Reciprocal Ventures and OCA Ventures. To date, Placer.ai has raised $16M in funding efforts.
