From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Planar Monolithics Industries (PMI) is an American manufacturer of radio-frequency and microwave components and subsystems used in defense, communications, and commercial applications.

History

Planar Monolithics Industries (PMI) was founded in 1989 and is a supplier of radio-frequency and microwave components for military, commercial, and industrial applications.[1]

Industry directories list PMI's headquarters in Frederick, Maryland, and describe the company as a provider of custom RF/microwave components covering DC to 70 GHz.[2]

Over time, the company expanded its product offerings to include hybrid and monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) components, modules, and subsystems. In the late 2010s and early 2020s, PMI updated its name and visual identity as part of broader organizational changes. Despite these changes, the company continued its technical focus and customer support activities.

In March 2021, Quantic Electronics, part of Arcline Investment Management, acquired PMI.[3]
