Play DMF is an Indian independent record label based in Mumbai, founded in 2020. The label is known for releases such as “Guli Mata” with Shreya Ghoshal and Saad Lamjarred, and “Yimmy Yimmy” with Shreya Ghoshal and Tayc. Initially focused on non-film pop singles, Play DMF later debuted in film music with Selfiee (2023) collaboration with Dharma Productions, and composed music for the upcoming film Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat (2025).[1][2]
History
Play DMF was founded in 2020 by producer Anshul Garg as a sister imprint to Desi Music Factory.[3][4] The label primarily releases non-film pop singles and has collaborated on Indian and international artists. It distributes its music via Virgin Music Group under a long-term partnership.[5] Some of the notable songs recorded under this label included Bolero, Judaiyaan, and Baarish Aayi Hai.[6]
In 2023, the label made its film music debut with the Hindi film Selfiee, a collaboration with Dharma Productions, a major film studio.[7] In 2024, It released songs including Guli Mata, a collaboration between Shreya Ghoshal and Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred,[8] and Yimmy Yimmy, with Shreya Ghoshal and French artist Tayc.[9]
