Philip 'Phil' Plested, known as the solo artist Plested (pronounced /pleh-sted/) is an english singer-songwriter and musician born in Hertfordshire. Apart from his solo work, Plested is well known as a songwriter for other chart topping artists such as Kygo, James Arthur and Little Mix as well as his songwriting as part of musical group 'Chasing Grace' with his school friends.

Early Career[edit]

Plested started his music career in the group Chasing Grace back in 2011 with his school friends Grace Ackerman, Matt Holmes and Phil Leigh[1]. The band had a number of songs that they released including "Run" and "Trust" on their debut album Nowhere Near Old Enough[2] before the band announced they were taking a break in January 2016 via social media.

Plested continued to write music for other artists. He has been credited as a songwriter for the band Little Mix on song "Touch"[3] in 2016. In 2018, Kygo released the single "Remind Me To Forget"[4] which was also written by Plested. Plested went on to explore his songwriting connections with UK artist, James Arthur, who Plested had collaborated with while with Chasing Grace. Plested assisted in penning the hit song for Danish DJ, Martin Jenson, "Nobody".[5] which featured James Arthur's vocals. Plested assisted Lewis Capaldi in writing of the song "Hollywood" which featured on the album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent[6]

Plested released his first solo album First & Foremost[7] in December 2018 and then sold out his biggest ever headline show at The Lexington, Islington, London on 26th March 2019, where he debuted a new song, "Either You Love Me, Or You Don't" which he later went on to release as a single[8].
