PolyNet Telecommunications Ltd.[edit]

PolyNet Telecommunications Ltd. is a private company that has been providing network synchronization solutions and equipment in the telecommunication industry since 1994. As equipment manufacturer, PolyNet produces time and frequency sources such as IEEE1588 PTP Grandmasters, PTP Edge Masters, Primary Reference Clocks, NTP Servers, as well as measuring instruments for synchronization networks. PolyNet also provides services such as network synchronization audits, network planning, optimization, onsite and remote support, testing, trainings, and consultancy. It is headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, and operates internationally.

History[edit]

PolyNet Ltd. was founded in 1994 by Zoltan Zorkoczy, Peter Jeszenoi et al. Formerly, they both worked as research engineers at the Hungarian Telecommunication Research Institute (Távközlési Kutató Intézet).

In 1995 they developed their first-generation Wander Analyzer to test the quality of synchronization networks with high precision, and two years later they developed the PW1008TDM synchronization equipment. 2010 marked the development of Stratum 1 NTP Servers. In 2017 they announced their new FPGA-based PTP Grandmaster Clock (PTPGM1009 and PTPGM1010) and the portable Ptest10G Network Synchronization Analyzer (now Ptest5G).

In 1999 PolyNet won its first national tender, which included the network synchronization planning and implementation of the Hungarian Electricity Company.

Since 2005 the company has been providing services internationally for major telecom companies mainly on the African continent (Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Lesotho, Morocco, Uganda, Zimbabwe), but also in Europe (Hungary, Malta, Moldova, Slovenia) and in Asia (Nepal).
