Pooja Misra
Pooja Misra is an Indian Reality Star, Author, Actor, Dancer and Model. Over the years she has played numerous roles in the entertainment industry, starting from VJ to Social Media Influencer. She possesses high knowledge on technical production and is involved in video/movie production, direction and choreography.
Pooja is the daughter of Shri Padmakar Misra, who was one of the high officials in the Income Tax Department of India. She was born in Minegar, Bihar and was raised in South Mumbai and England. As a teenager she was an athlete and very studious, but left her academic background to become a fashion Model. She soon received many offers of shows and made her VJ debut in a solo primetime show in 2008.
Pooja Misra has hosted shows for national channels like Zoom [war of DJ's], Channel [V], Zee Music, Sony, Star plus & Star one. Pooja was the runner up in the reality show 'Big Switch' on UTV. Pooja was in the reality television show Bigg Boss 5 for 8 out of 15 weeks inside the house on the channel Colors. Misra is the founder of Pooja Misra Productions house, which creates trendy films and videos on fashion, lifestyle and reality shows. She is vocal about issues of Nepotism, #metoo movement and black magic[1]. She also participates in stage shows, has written columns for newspapers, designed her own line of clothing for women, and is a celebrity endorser for brands and products. She is a theatre enthusiast and has done lots of theatre with Alyque Padamsee.
She has worked with PETA campaigns and is a strong believer of animal rights.
Early Life
Pooja Misra is the daughter of Shri Padmakar Misra and Smt. Karuna Misra. She has one brother and her sister, Priya Mishra lives in Singapore. Her father was one of the strongest critics of her, but later helped her to pursue her passion for acting and modelling. After her financial crisis in 2022, her brother has provided her basic support. She has spent a part of her primary school years in England. She has a strong hold over the English language and is very particular about English grammar. She has pursued education in Law and is knowledgeable about the legal and Judicial System.
Personal Life
She filed a police complaint against Timmy Narang for allegedly hypnosis and molestation[2]. She dated Andrew Symonds for a brief time during his visit to India.
Social Media Domination
A social media clip based on a Bigg Boss fight of Pooja Mishra and Shonali Nagrani, initially made in 2011, went viral in 2020. In the video she was seen with her other Bigg Boss 5 inmates Shonali Nagrani, Mahek Chahal and LGBTQ Activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi. The video was analyzed later by US based famous youtuber PewDewPie and her grounds were sympathized with by him. The video sheds light on public perception of her claims of being emotionally abused on the sets of Bigg Boss 5 by the fellow contestants. [3]
On the year 2019-2022, several celebrities like Janhvi Kapoor, Nora Fatehi and others have made her famous Bigg Boss 5 catch phrases 'SPARE ME' and 'STOP MOOCHING OF ME' into viral Instagram, YouTube and TikTok reels. Since the initial video was owned by Big Brother Universe, she did not receive any financial remuneration for her fame. She later launched a small goodies campaign of 'POOJA, WHAT IS THIS BEHAVIOR?'[4] asking fans to donate and buy so that she can get some support and continue making such reality catch phrases.
She is one of the first Indian Celebrities who reached out to her fans and audience using Cameo. She is one of the early acceptors of social media trends like 'Say my Name Challenge' and 'Ice Bucket Challenge'. Her 'Say My Name Challenge' was followed by other celebrities like Ayushmann Khurrana, Anil Kapoor and Varun Dhawan.

She is known to post her bold images in a calendar format every year. (2022 Calendar) She attended the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) 2019 conference as a celebrity guest for different talks about digital media commerce. She has featured on the cover of various renowned magazines Wedding Affair, Filmfare and FHM.
She has been the face of many brands like Durian furniture's, Videocon, Sansui, Lissome Moisturizer, Royal Palms and Frooti. She was also the brand ambassador for Lokhanwala valley and Wetzone bathroom ware. She collaborated Internationally on Dubai TV, Malaysian airlines, BBC, and has also hosted live shows all over the world (United Kingdom, United States of America, Egypt, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, New Zealand, Australia and Brazil). She has a strong international fan base in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. She has launched a signature perfume line, hotter than you [6]. In 2018 she launched her clothing line, giving a western twist to Indian Ethnic attires, and it is a major hit with the GEN Z population. Her fashion attires were also in the spotlight because major Bollywood personalities like Malaika Arora, Sonakshi Sinha, Sunny Leone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Anushka Sharma were seen copying and plagiarizing those ideas without giving her due credit or compensation.
