Overview of Position Music
Position Music is a music publishing company[1] and indie music label based in Los Angeles, CA (Burbank). They are an independent publisher, record label and management firm that was established in 1999 by founder Tyler Bacon[2]. With music licensing and synchronization, marketing, A&R, and artist management practices, Position is a full-service, artist-centric approach type of management firm. Their label roster includes Welshly Arms, Tyrone Wells, 2WEI, Jo Blankenburg, JoyBird (AKA Nikki Leonti), among others. Position Music[3] was the first record label to sign TeaMarrr, before signing with Issa Rae’s Raedio, a joint-venture with Atlantic Records.
History of Position Music
Established in 1999 and still led by founder Tyler Bacon, Position Music started in Los Angeles, CA that has always been an independent publisher that produces creative across all industries. Position Music currently holds publishing rights for the music of Grammy-Award winning artist Fantastic Negrito[4], indie rock group Judah & the Lion, rapper Andy Mineo, Michael Franti, among others. In 2020, Position Music hired Michael Frick as vice president of brand partnerships and creative synch, and in 2019 they hired Jon Sidel as A&R Director.

Historically, Position Music is most known for its Epic Trailer Music, and works with award-winning composers such as 2WEI, Jo Blankenberg, James Dooley, Danny Cocke, and Tom Player. This independent publisher has placed music in many popular TV shows[5], Films, Video Games, Trailers, TV Promos, and Advertisements including official film trailers for Toy Story 4[6], Wonder Woman, Transformers, and more.
