Positive Salad Bar
Positive Salad Bar (PSB) is a methodology, invented by Masaya Mori of Rakuten Institute of Technology, for communication within an organization that is aimed to improve team productivity. What is people’s motivation to work? Instead of looking for reasons to work in the job content or the compensation and rewards, this methodology focuses on the circumstances in which strong motivation arises when someone’s positive feelings are satisfied through work. What positive feelings are these? By focusing on this and sharing among your team, you can discover some hints about how to manage your team better. Under this concept, managing a team can be likened to taking salad ingredients from the salad bar. This methodology was inspired by Masaya Mori’s conversation with fellow project members at the salad bar of a buffet restaurant.
