Post Emo (also known as Indie Emo) is a subgenre of Emo that originated in the 90's with bands like Lifetime, Texas Is The Reason, and the Get Up Kids. Post Emo usually has a more happy sound than most subgenres of Emo.[1]

History[edit]

Influences[edit]

The rain reason Post Emo is given the nickname Indie Emo is because of it's influences. Bands like The Pixies, and Fugazi Were some of the largest influences to Post Emo. Bands like The Get Up Kids Influenced other Pop Punk and Emo bands like Blink 182, and Fall Out Boy, which would later become part of the next generation of Post Emo bands (Early 2000's).[2][3] Then the 2000 generation of Post Emo would Influence the Emo Revival.
