Post Globalization

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Post Globalization is a process of new economic and political interaction and integration of developed countries that began in 2020 after the collapse of the global economy by the Covid-19 virus pandemic.

For the first time in academic literature the term Post Globalization is found in the book Future of Globalization (2002) by independent analyst Andrej Statskij. In this book he was the first to consider this process as a form of cooperation which entails the increasing economic and political interaction and integration of developed countries while decreasing it with developing countries. He identifies four main reasons for this process :

1.The need for urgent economic recovery in developed countries after the collapse of the global economy

2.The need to protect countries from political and economic threats from developing countries

3.Globalization in its modern form is hampering a new technological revolution and the progress of developed countries

4.The disappointment of developed countries and their people with the results of globalization and in developing countries as reliable political and economic partners

In Future of Globalization , Andrej Statskij state:

”Globalization ( and the global economy in particular ) are like a very complex and fragile mechanism with many flaws. Yes, it's working now, but what happens if one day it breaks down ? I'm sure that most national governments do not ask themselves the questions What If One Day Globalization Collapses ? Are Our Countries Ready For the Post Globalization Era? Unfortunately, they believe that such a scenario is completely impossible.”

Nathan Gardels, co founder of the Berggruen Institute, in books Post Globalization (2008) and Renovating Democracy: Governing in the Age of Globalization and Digital Capitalism (2019) state:

”Globalization has so thoroughly transformed the world that we may now be entering a new phase: post‐globalization. This phase is characterized less by a flattening of old differences than the appearance of new ones.”

”Harnessing globalization through “positive nationalism,” which means an allegiance to the values of an inclusive society instead of nationalistic incantation, albeit tempered by an understanding that open societies need defined borders. It also means dialing back the hyper-globalization of “one size fits all” global trade agreements to leave room for industrial policies that compensate for the dislocations of integrated global markets.”

While as with globalization and deglobalization, Post Globalization can refer to economic, political, trade, social and technological dimensions, much of the work that has been conducted in the study of Post Globalization refers to the field of international economics and politics.
