Powershoring
Powershoring is the strategy for attracting investments to regions with: i) intensive supply of clean, safe and cheap energy; ii) port and industrial zone infrastructure; and iii) availability of fresh water and critical minerals to support the installation of energy-intensive industrial plants that will produce new green manufactured products capable of helping to accelerate the energy transition and decarbonization in the countries sending the plants. It also contributes to the generation of jobs in urban areas, the increase and diversification of exports of goods and, finally, it contributes to the sustained and sustainable economic development of the countries.
Three drivers:
Choosing an industrial location that meets the criteria for emissions reduction (resilience) and supply of critical inputs (efficiency).
Abundance of cheap, safe, clean energy, combined with port infrastructure, transmission lines, critical minerals and fresh water.
Compliance with the environmental agenda and with the promotion of economic and social development.
