Próxima Jornada

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Próxima Jornada is a news organisation that focuses solely on Portuguese football.[1] Created in 2019, Próxima Jornada provides analysis, scouting reports, interviews and information regarding both Portuguese football domestically, and also those Portuguese footballers, coaches and managers abroad.

The organisation was created by Aaron Barton, a sports journalist from Liverpool, England. Aaron has provided freelance work for organisations such as EuroSport[2], West Ham United[3], PortuGOAL and more, but claimed he wanted to create Próxima Jornada as not, "not enough was being done to highlight Portuguese football"

Podcast[edit]

Próxima Jornada launched it's podcast in 2020, featuring two shows running concurrently, The Portuguese Football Show and Próxima Jornada Meets...

Próxima Jornada Meets... is an interview series, where one of the journalists interviews either a footballer, coach, scout or journalist from the world of Portuguese football. For the first episode, Aaron interviewed SC Farense and former Scotland U21 international Ryan Gauld.[4]

Próxima Jornada took up the role as Squawka's correspondent during UEFA Euro 2020, appearing on podcasts to talk about the Portuguese national team.
