Pragya Dasgupta is an Indian singer.[1] She is a singer in Hindi, Bengali and Telugu languages films.[2]
Personal life[edit]
Pragya Dasgupta was born and brought up in Kolkata, West Bengal.[3] Her mother was a trained classical singer. Paroma Dasgupta is her younger sister who is also playback singer.[4]
Pragya belongs to Rampur-Sahaswan gharana.[5] She started her career as Radio Jockey with BIG FM 92.7 and Radio Mirchi in Kolkata, West Bengal. She moved out to Mumbai in 2009. She worked for INX media and Zoom (Indian TV channel) as music manager.[6] In 2015, she quit her job and started pursuing her career in singing.
