Pragya Dasgupta is an Indian singer.[1] She is a singer in Hindi, Bengali and Telugu languages films.[2]
Personal life
Pragya Dasgupta was born and brought up in Kolkata, West Bengal.[3] Her mother was a trained classical singer. Paroma Dasgupta is her younger sister, who is also a playback singer.[4]
Pragya belongs to the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana.[5] She started her career as a Radio Jockey with BIG FM 92.7 and Radio Mirchi in Kolkata, West Bengal. She moved to Mumbai in 2009. She worked for INX media and Zoom (Indian TV channel) as a music manager.[6] In 2015, she quit her job and started pursuing her career in singing.
