Prakash Parimal
Prakash Parimal (प्रकाश परिमल)[citation needed] (26 November 1936 – 25 August 2021)[1] was a Hindi-Rajasthani writer, a Hindi/English art critic, hobby-painter and a prolific translator.
Education and Occupations
He obtained the post-graduate degree in Philosophy from the Rajasthan University in 1960 and also specialized in English Literature from the same in 1963. He joined the Department of Parapsychology of the University established to study alleged cases regarding rebirth/incarnation of men. After having worked in the research-projects under departmental head, Hemendra Nath Banerjee in 1964, Parimal again in 1976, was associated as the officer-in-charge of a new 'research and reference cell' created by Dr. Govind Chandra Pande, the VC of the University. Later, Prakash Parimal worked as an English teacher in a Government school and ultimately landed as Assistant Director in Shardul Rajasthani Research Institute, Bikaner. (1966–1979) [2] After his term was over on superannuation, Parimal engaged himself in full-time Vaidik-research, translation-projects, Freelance creative writing and painting, while living in Jaipur till his death in 2021. Although he did not study Sanskrit language formally, but was a self-taught student of the language and also of the Vedas.[citation needed]
