Premier Gospel is a British Christian radio station, part of Premier Christian Communications (a Christian communications organisation), owned by the charity Premier Christian Media Trust. Their programming includes music, talking points, debates, interviews and primarily gospel music.

History[edit]

Premier Gospel was founded in 2010 as a spin-off station from Premier Christian Radio. The station is directed by British-Nigerian gospel artist Muyiwa Olarewaju OBE and has over 500,000 listeners every week.

Since 2015 Premier Gospel has supported the Best Gospel Act category at the MOBO Awards and began their own annual award ceremony, The Premier Gospel Awards, in 2017. In 2022 Premier Gospel rebranded their logo, colours and style and bought back their award show after a 2 year hiatus due to the corona virus. They joined Apple Music as an official playlist curator, releasing 5 playlists upon their launch and supported Stormzy with his first Merky Christmas Gospel event
