The Fashion Wears Peace Award (Italian: Premio la Moda Veste la Pace) is a public award founded in 2012 by the social promotion association African Fashion Gate (ETS), and sponsored by the European Parliament, the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, the National Office Against Racial Discrimination and the Italian Football Federation.[1][2]
History
The Fashion Wears Peace was founded by Nicola Paparusso.[3] The ceremony is held twice a year in Brussels, at the headquarters of the European Parliament and in Rome at the headquarters of the Italian representation of the European Commission.

Recipient of its award include Franca Sozzani,[4] Valentino Garavani,[5] Giorgio Armani,[6] Vivienne Westwood,[7] Renzo Rosso,[8] Naomi Campbell,[9] Jean-Christophe Babin, Carlo Capasa, Santo Versace,[10] Arianna Alessi, Massimo Leonardelli, and Piero Piazzi.[11] It also awarded figures belonging to other sectors, aside fashion such as Gabriele Gravina, Paolo Del Brocco,[12] Massimo Giannini, Franco Morbidelli,[13] Ebrima Darboe, Khaby Lame,[14] Simple Minds, and Makaziwe Mandela.[15]
African Fashion Gate
African Fashion Gate is a social promotion association. It is a promoter of cultural initiatives, including the Fashion Wears Peace Award and legislative interventions against the surviving forms and episodes of racism, discrimination, and exclusion in the world of fashion, the arts, entertainment, and sport.[16]
