Premise Health is a healthcare company based in Brentwood, Tennessee, that provides employer-sponsored health and workplace wellness services. It operates nearly 600 health and wellness centers in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Guam. [2]
Premise Health operates clinics for such companies as Goldman Sachs, Cummins Inc., and Cisco Systems Inc, and is a part of the growing trend of onsite health clinics created to save employer healthcare costs. [3]
It is a company of Water Street Healthcare Partners, a strategic investor focused exclusively on the health care industry.[4]
Premise Health is implementing Epic Systems software technology in all of its clinics nationwide[5] and has achieved HITRUST certification in order to protect patient information.[6]
History[edit]
Premise Health was formed after a merger between Take Care Health, a subsidiary of Walgreens, and CHS Onsite in 2014.[7]
In 2015, current National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Donald Rucker served as Chief Medical Officer for Premise Health. [8]
In early 2016, the company opened a second headquarters in Alameda, California to meet the needs of its West Coast clients.[9] Later in 2016, Premise Health acquired IMWell Health, a company that runs clinics for mid-size employers, school districts and municipalities in the Southwest.[10] In 2017, Premise Health acquired eHealthScreenings, a biometric screening company based in San Antonio, Texas.[11]
