The Forum of Young Parliamentarians was established in 2013 as a permanent body of the IPU, to encourage the active participation of young people in parliaments and within the IPU.[2]

The current President is Dan Carden of the United Kingdom, who was elected in 2023.[1][3]

The role of the President of the Forum of Young Parliamentarians includes advocating for youth issues and promoting the organisation's mission, which is to empower young people to become effective leaders in their communities and countries.[2]
